Operation time

The family came with us to the hospital, and after we checked Elaine in, we took turns going in the back to be with her.  About an hour before the surgery the anesthesiologist told us he would administer a nerve block numbing agent first on the leg, and then later a general anesthesia before the operation.
She was then wheeled to the back, and I went back to the family area with everyone else.  2 hours later the physician's assistant came out and told us that the operation was a success, and they only needed to do 4 out of the 5 procedures after all.
A few hours later, she was discharged, although the nurses forgot to give us the discharge paperwork

I have a cold!

I woke up with a head cold...oh no...I have heard that anesthesiologists don't like putting patients under if they have a cold... I'm nervous my surgery will be postponed of I have a cold.  I am doing zicam,  sudafed, ginger tea,  lots of water and diffuser with eucalyptus.

Friday: 1 day after surgery

It's been about 24 hours since I got home from having my surgery and it has been an adventure but I am finally stable and feeling okay. My surgery was a success and I have a long road to recovery. As you can see, my foot is all bandaged up.  I am not supposed to put any weight on it for 6 - 8 weeks! I decided to write this at the point where my medicine is almost due so that I am more aware of what I'm typing.
